OUR MISSION

The Lone Star Hiking Trail Conservancy, Inc. is a  501(c)3, all volunteer, non-profit charity, committed to:


  • Conservation education for the public
  • Assist the Sam Houston National Forest and National Forest of Texas to maintain trails and recreational facilities
  • Facilitate hands-on experiences for youth on hiking trails, volunteering, and conservation of natural resources.

The Lone Star Hiking Trail Conservancy will be dessolving as a Non-Profit Corporation on December 31, 2016. All assets will be distributed to the Sam Houston Trails Coalition and trail maintenance activities will be coordinated with the Sam Houston Trails Coalition .

I would encourage you to join the Sam Houston Trails Coalition and be active in coalition activities to maintain and improve the Lone Star Hiking Trail system of trails.  Find out more at:  www.samhoustontrails.org
